The Bible describes God’s plan for marriage as a grace for a happy life and sign of Christ’s faithful and fruitful love for his Bride, the Church. The Church defines marriage as the union between a man and a woman. Marriage as a Sacrament is ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of children.

Marriage at Ascension

Couples planning to marry at Ascension must have a connection to the parish. The bride, groom, or a relative must be a registered, active parishioner, who is supporting the parish in one of the following ways:

  1. Trackable history of Giving to Ascension (parish envelopes; FaithDirect; Paypal) for at least 6 months.
  2. Involvement in an Ascension Ministry (Greeter, Holy Grounds Cafe, Info Booth) for at least 6 months.
  3. Involvement in Small Groups.

Once the above is satisfied, an initial meeting with the Clergy will be scheduled and Date and Time of the wedding will be established.

Please Note: All requirements apply to any couple seeking marriage preparation for a wedding at another church.

Scheduling the Wedding

  • Weddings are celebrated on Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00am or 1:00pm.
  • Couples planning to marry need to allow at least 6 months for preparation. Firm wedding dates will not be established until it is confirmed that there is no impediment to the marriage by either party.
  • Date/Time must be approved by the Pastor. Do not sign a contract with any catering service or reception venue without receiving Date/Time approval.

Requirements for the Couple

  • One of the couple must be baptized Catholic.
  • The Prenuptial Questionnaire must be completed in writing by the Clergy or their designee who will assist you in making your arrangements.
  • Certified copy of Baptismal record dated within 6 months of the wedding, provided by the parish where each person was baptized.

Please be informed that all couples contemplating marriage in the Diocese of Palm Beach are required to participate in a marriage education course.

Fees

  • $600 Church Fee
    • A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to reserve and confirm your wedding date.
    • The remaining $300 balance is due no later than two (2) weeks prior to the ceremony.
  • The priest’s check must be made out separately to the presider.
  • Musicians’ fees are not included.

Additional Services

Couples may request music or livestreaming for their ceremony at an additional cost. For more information on this, please contact music-dir@accboca.net.
