Liturgical ministers serve during the Mass. This includes reading the scriptures, helping the priest, distributing Communion, and other responsibilities. For additional information regarding Liturgical Ministry complete and submit our Ministry and Missions Interest Form and we will be glad to contact you.

Adults serving in a ministry must complete a background check by the Diocese and complete an online course called VIRTUS – Protecting God’s Children, where a Code of Conduct will be signed. These are Diocesan requirements. For more information, email communications@ascensionboca.org.

Altar Servers

After receiving First Communion, students are invited to participate in this ministry. Altar servers assist at our weekend liturgies and special Masses (Holy Week, Confirmation, First Holy Communion and Christmas). Training sessions are held throughout the year. Sign up here or for more information, please email Gabriela Fatta: gfatta@ascensionboca.org

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

EMHCs assist our priests with distributing the Body of Christ at our daily and weekend Masses. An EMHC may also bring Holy Communion to the home-bound. Training sessions are available throughout the year if you are interested in joining this important ministry.

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the scripture readings and recite the prayers of the faithful at Mass. This specialized ministry requires an audition with the Pastor to determine ability. Please contact admin-asst@ascensionboca.org for more information.

Technology Team

Members of our Technology Team are trained to either run the slide display or control the cameras for our livestreams. Experience with computers and knowledge of the order of the Mass are required. For additional information, contact tech@ascensionboca.org.
