From Cindy Nau, Communications Director: We are blessed to be back to public Masses, to celebrate in community and share in the Blessed Eucharist at the Lord’s table. However, we are not doing church the way we normally would. It is hard to share community when we are behind masks, cannot share a physical sign of peace, or have a cup of coffee together. We pray for the time we can return to a more normal way to be together at church.

Our next parish message series, Next Door, begins the weekend of May 22,23. One could understand John 1:14 this way, “The word became flesh, and moved into the neighborhood.” Jesus moved into our world to show us God’s love and concern. In the same way, God has placed us in our neighborhoods for a purpose and a reason. God wants to use us right where we live to make an impact for His kingdom–to show His love, care, and concern for our neighbors. And yet we are so often disconnected from them. We do not know our neighbors’ names, much less their stories. In this series, we will look at some baby steps we can take to love the people God has placed around us.
