Sins wound the Body of Christ, the Church. Reconciliation, also called Penance or Confession, heals the division caused by sin. FAQs about Reconciliation Can children receive reconciliation? Baptized children preparing for First Communion will prepare for Reconciliation first as part of the religious education program. I’m not Catholic. Can I receive Reconciliation? If you have been baptized, you can seek out a priest for penance in cases of grave necessity. You must profess faith in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and seek confession of your free will.
